Restaurant Review for @Corner Thai Restaurant
Yes, this restaurant DOES actually have a '@' right at the beginning of it's name! Why? I haven't a clue!
In March 2007 six of us (2 flight deck crews) ate here and it was very good. Extensive menu (some of the english translations had us giggling), generous portions, very tasty, good value. Best Thai meal I had had in a long while. Bring Your Own booze was no problem at all.
In Nov 2007 three of us ate here with two of those persons never having been here before. Once again, great food and plenty of it (a portion of rice was big enough for three, with some left over). All agreed that it was a very tasty meal - the Tom Yam soups were superb.
The area in which the Navana Complex is situated does not look particularly salubrious, nor does the external view of the building itself, but believe me, the food is fab. Hotels and taxi drivers in the Gulshan area of Dhaka may not know of the restaurant but they seem to know the Navana Complex quite well. It is a several storey (10?), fairly narrow building with a curved frontage sitting on one corner of, and facing, a busy junction. There is an '@ Thai' illuminated sign on the front of the building, a few floors up. Take the elevator up to the 4th floor and walk several yards along the passage and the restaurant will come into view.
